WCHA Reaches Crucial Founding Member Goal
More than 150 join World Conformation Horse Association as Founding Members
(Fort Worth, Texas) - The horse industry's newest addition, the World Conformation Horse Association, has reached an important
milestone in its first 100 days, securing more than 150 Founding Members.
In order to gain financial support needed to develop the fledgling group, the WCHA solicited founding member donations at $500,
offered through September 1. Donations received become Founding Lifetime memberships upon completion of document filing for the
association as a not for profit 501(c)(6).
"The last 100 days has been exhilarating and exhausting as we've moved forward, and there is still a lot more work to do,"
said WCHA Steering Committee Chairman Peter Cofrancesco, III. "With a foundation of members in place who have a clear and
vested interest in promoting the value of conformation, the WCHA will now move forward in getting its by-laws ratified by a
vote of the membership, as well as the election of an executive committee and board of directors."
By law ratification and elections will take place in September, but with a delayed schedule. "The influx of memberships we
received September 1 has forced us to delay the by-law ratification date past September 5, our intended goal," Cofrancesco explained.
"It's important that all those memberships be processed so everyone who has joined has an opportunity to vote."
The group will officially launch during the All American Quarter Horse Congress in October. Cofranscesco said the kick off event
October 17 will provide more information about the direction and focus of the group and special announcements will be made
regarding events to be held in 2008. The reception will be free to all interested persons, although a ticket is required to attend.
Tickets are available from any WCHA committee member, at indicated stalling areas at the Congress or by e-mailing
jbryant@conformationhorse.com. Tickets will be available through October 12.
