COMPETITION CLASSES – Exhibitor Experience

Open: Any Person who is a WCHA member.

Limited Open: Any Person who is a WCHA member and has not been an Open Quarter Horse Congress Halter Champion or an Open Halter World or Reserve World Champion in AQHA or APHA in the previous five (5) years. Any AQHA, APHA, and WCHA carded judges are ineligible for this level of competition.

Open Non-Pro: Any Non-Pro as defined in WCHA’s rules and regulations who is a WCHA member (19 and over).

Intermediate Non-Pro: Any Non-Pro as defined in WCHA’s rules and regulations who is a WCHA member (19 and over) and who has not been a Quarter Horse Congress Halter Champion or a Halter World or Reserve World Champion in AQHA or APHA in the previous five (5) years.

Limited Non-Pro: Any Non-Pro as defined in WCHA’s rules and regulations who is a WCHA member (19 and over) and has not been a Quarter Horse Congress Top 10 Halter Champion, a World Top 10 Halter Champion in AQHA or APHA or who has earned more than 10 halter points with any one horse in any Western Stock Horse breed association in the previous 5 years. If an exhibitor is eligible on January 1, they will be considered eligible the entire calendar year regardless of points earned during that calendar year.

Open Youth: Any Youth (18 and under) as defined in WCHA’s rules and regulations who is a WCHA member.

Intermediate Youth: Any Youth (18 and under) who is a WCHA member and who has not been a Quarter Horse Congress Halter Champion or a Halter World or Reserve World Champion in AQHA or APHA in the previous five (5) years.

Limited Youth: Any Youth (18 and under) who is a WCHA member and has not been a Quarter Horse Congress Top 10 Halter Champion, a Halter World or Reserve World Champion in AQHA or APHA or who has not earned more than 10 halter points with any one horse in any Western Stock Horse breed association in the previous 5 years. If an exhibitor is eligible on January 1, they will be considered eligible the entire calendar year regardless of points earned during that calendar year.

As these rules are written, any exhibitor may compete up in classification but cannot compete down in classification.



COMPETITION CLASSES – Horse Experience

Open, Open Non-Pro, Open Youth: Any horse registered in any Western Stock Horse breed association.

Limited Open, Intermediate Non-Pro, Intermediate Youth: Any horse registered with any Western Stock Horse breed association that has not been a Quarter Horse Congress Halter Champion or a Halter World or Reserve World Champion in AQHA or APHA.

Limited Non-Pro, Limited Youth: Any horse registered with any Western Stock Horse breed association that has not
been a Quarter Horse Congress Top 10 Halter Champion or a Halter World Top 10 Champion in AQHA or APHA or has not earned more than 10 halter points in any Western Stock Horse breed association in the previous five years. If a horse is eligible on January 1, that horse will be considered eligible the entire calendar year regardless of points earned during that calendar year.

Furthermore, a horse can only be shown by one exhibitor at each WCHA event. For reference, a World Championship speaks to any World Championship, be it Youth, Amateur, Select, and/or Open.
